Abseil

Click to download associated file (PDF FIle) Leader  For those who lead introductory abseiling experiences. 1 day

Alpine

Click to download associated file (PDF FIle) Level I  For those who are organising and leading others on trips of 2 - 3 days duration in alpine or snow environments in all seasons, on non-technical ground (i.e.. where a rope is not normally required) and snow is normally encountered. 3 Days
Click to download associated file (PDF FIle) Level II  For those organising and leading others on multi-day trips in alpine environments, on technical and non-technical ground, where snow is almost always encountered, and a rope may be required to improve margins of safety. For those instructing to other alpine and outdoor instructors and leaders. 4 Days

Bush

Click to download associated file (PDF FIle) Leader  For those who lead walks of less than one day duration, on clearly formed and marked tracks with bridged river crossings. 2 days
Click to download associated file (PDF FIle) Level I  For those organising and leading others in 2-3 day overnight trips, either on tracks or within easy access of recognised tracks or routes below the bush-line, or on tracks above the bush-line where snow is not normally encountered. Groups would normally be using tents or huts. 3 Days

Canoe

Click to download associated file (PDF FIle) Level I  For those who take students Tandem Open Canoeing on placid or moving water up to and including grade one. This includes estuaries, river deltas, sheltered beaches, lakes and coastal inlets with no tidal speed. 2 Days

Cave (in partnership with NZSS)

Click to download associated file (PDF FIle) Level I  For those who deal with students in easier caves with short pitches that can be negotiated using ladders and lifeline techniques. 2 Days

Kayak (in partnership with NZRCA)

Outdoor Safety Management

Sea Kayak (in partnership with SKOANZ & KASK)

Click to download associated file (PDF FIle) Level I  For those who instruct clients to become competent sea kayakers including the skills and knowledge contained in the Guides qualification and Proficiency awards. Candidates must hold the SKOANZ Guides qualification. 1 Day
Click to download associated file (PDF FIle) Level II  For those training sea kayak instructors, developing and managing sea kayak programmes and leading multi-day sea kayak expeditions. Candidates must hold the NZOIA / SKOANZ Sea Kayak Guide qualification. 3 Days
