    This immersive, hands-on workshop is designed to develop your knowledge and confidence in using fire as a powerful teaching tool across a variety of curriculum areas:

    You’ll experience:

    • A wide range of fire-based learning activities linked to:
      Science, NZ Histories, English, Social Studies, Maths & Outdoor Education
    • Practical fire-starting techniques:
      Flint & steel, fire by friction (e.g., bow-drill)
    • Student-friendly outdoor cooking methods
    • Bushcraft skills including:
      Natural tinder identification, fungi for fire, pine pitch resin-making
      Camp oven cooking, billy hanging, bow-drill kit building & LNT principles
