'What the day may include' are guidelines only. What actually gets covered on the day will be determined by what the Assessor needs to see the candidates demonstrate. Their goal however, is to provide you with an educational, fun and safe day out.

Model Client Requirements:	Aspiring MTB 1 instructor/guide, or recreational mountain biker with prior instructional experience. Can confidently ride Grade 4 trails. Already has the ability to show effective cornering techniques, roll and drop off small trail features, solid body position and effective brake control. Own equipment required (bike gloves, helmet, mountain bike, spare inner tube).
What the day might include:	1 day instruction on intermediate to advanced mountain biking skills such as high-speed cornering, body position, bike – body separation, manuals and wheelies, trail riding strategies, site and track selection.

Under 18 yr olds must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for them and also participates as a model client. For Rock courses only, adults can choose not to participate but must stay onsite to supervise under 18’s.
